What is Ethereum?

Ethereum uses ‘Ether’ cryptocurrency as payment, when users create, publish, monetize, and use applications on the Ethereum platform.

Ethereum uses ‘proof-of-work’ (in which computers burn energy, to solve puzzles needed to create blocks), to power its blockchain. Ethereum will soon transition to “Proof of Stake’. But what is ‘Proof of Stake’?

Altcoins are ‘alternative cryptocurrencies that were launched after Bitcoin’s success. Can they be a replacement for Bitcoin?
Types of Altcoins
Many altcoins are built based on the basic structure, provided by Bitcoin. Altcoins, vary widely from one another. There are many altcoins, designed for a variety of applications.
How do Altcoins work?
Altcoins work like the original Bitcoin. Using a private key, you can send a payment from your digital wallet to another user’s wallet. There is a blockchain, or recording ledger, where the transactions are permanently and publicly recorded.
Are Altcoins a good investment?
Before investing in any altcoins, be sure to do your research and technical analysis, just as you would when choosing to invest in any traditional security. Learning useful technical analysis techniques, used by professionals, will help you avoid unnecessary risks.
